The UK’s flagship fusion machine, MAST Upgrade, has achieved the highest plasma pressure attained by the machine in its fifth campaign. The experiments have overcome plasma instability issues and pioneered novel techniques, solving problems that are considered essential prerequisites for commercial fusion power.
