Hi! I wanna thank you for bothering to click on this video, it really means a lot.
This little collection of songs is all my "A" material, the stuff I'd really consider top of the line, best of the best. I made sure to put something from every album, and included a little bonus just because I could. There's two from Misery Loves Company because I think I peaked in writing there and I couldn't choose, think I really did great with those ones. It's a good feeling to have something you're not ashamed to attach your real name to. All the downloads, if you want 'em, are under the For All Time compilation anyhow. The cover art was drawn on a 1x1 square of notecard with my own handwriting and a Pilot G2 0.38mm.
That Much Is True is the very first song I ever wrote. I was 14 when I wrote it, I'd spent most of the day listening to the early Beatles demos. The intro to that is a direct call to the unreleased "Bad To Me". You Really Got A Hold On Me was a more personal pick because it's seemingly the favorite of one of my friends and I thought that was sweet, it's a fold-down of the stereo because of the weird mic error on the mono. Almost Over You and Oh Why are in my opinion my best writing, I really got smacked with inspiration there, huge stuff. Break My Shell I'll admit is kinda just there for being the best of the middest, it had a lot of tracks but From The Garage had very little standout that I was still proud of. My second pick would've been Song About Nothing. Stay Until The End is the Love Won't Wait EP's white whale, the thing it was supposed to be but couldn't quite hold to, so it's full of covers and filler masked as a return to form. Yikes! is titled after an inside joke that I already explained, it was one of the last songs I ever wrote. This version has a synthesized intro which is cut from some takes, I took inspiration from CCR's "I Put A Spell On You", and a part of the solo is pretty much just Hotel California's.
Tracklist:
0:00 That Much Is True
1:44 You Really Got A Hold On Me
4:38 Almost Over You
7:54 Oh Why
10:44 Break My Shell
13:47 Stay Until The End
16:10 Yikes!
You're pretty cool, man. Have a good one for me.
