Not a typical Mason club banger by any stretch of the imagination 'Boadicea' is the first salvo from the boy's 'They Are Among Us' album. Having built up a steady online buzz via cult blogger Perez Hilton's support this tune has been gathering much internet moss as it rolls through the ether picking up momentum.
This classy electronic mid-tempo showcases the versatility of the Amsterdam based producers and the vocal beauty of Roisin Murphy. Its simple slowly arpeggiating theme over a sexed-up groove creates the perfect palette for Roisin's pure tones soaring majestically over the sonic canvas.
Dutch duo Iason Chronis and Coen Berrier had always been massive fans of Roisin's since hearing her on early Moloko tracks in their formative years. Having sent over a bunch of their latest ideas it wasn't long before the Irish diva was enlisted as another star performer on 'They Are Among Us'.
A heavily pregnant Miss Murphy entered a borrowed London studio and over the course of a day came up with the magical performance on 'Boadicea' somehow inspired by the ancient revolutionary warrior queen! What started life as a slow, deep Italo influenced groove turned into something much more special.
"Working with Roisin was really inspiring" Iason reflects of the recording session. " She breezed into the room and just became this creative machine of ideas as soon as the mic was switched on and stuck in front of her".
'Boadicea' has been taken into the club area by some quality and diverse remixers. Brighton's Evil Nine, give it a stab happy old school house rinse. Even the most stubborn of hands will be air-bound when this one is dropped. Tony Senghore brings his signature pitching vocal madness to his treatment. Madder than a bag of kittens the Swede warrants a check up from the neck up with his typically loco remix. Danny Howells and Mat Playford opt for a deep and funky disco vibe in contrast. A smooth and relentless head nodder of groovy goodness! The package is rounded off with an electronic stonker by Ghent-based Belgian youngster Polydor and big room euphoric style with LA's mighty Human Life providing the icing on this very tasty cake.

Billie proudly presents her first single ‘Give Me The Knife’
Billie burst onto the scene in 2012, when she wrote the lyrics and vocals to Netsky’s Puppy, turning the instrumental banger into the anthem We Can Only Live Today, one of Netsky’s biggest hits to date. Billie also joined Netsky’s live band on a never ending world tour, and kept on working on new music for her solo project behind the scenes.
Billie’s first single Give Me The Knife is an eighties flavoured electro-pop gem she wrote with Goose producer and drummer Bert Libeert. Straddling the line between immaculate pop perfection and indie cred isn’t always easy, but Billie handily manages to do so.
