Before I even HEAR these comments, I am well aware of the many issues surrounding mythos with gods loving humans, etc. Though Cardinal is "100 years old", his entire angst is that his mother trapped him in a bubble for the first 100 years of his life, so he didn't grow. He's maybe only one or two years older than Quailtrot. As someone who had a very bad relationship with someone very much older than me, I am well aware of the problems with depicting that story so, don't worry.

More Cardinal lore! So, as will be shown in more shorts and videos, each one of the god-children watch over one of the six clans (or 'nations'). Each god-children will also have a mortal character they are tied to in some way; with that connection being shown by a change in eye color. Cardinal watches over Bog and comes across Quailtrot, a young Bog Nation warrior who will soon be chosen to be deputy. Cardinal, not realizing until it's too late, gets spotted and.. whelp... their connection is a bit different than the other gods' connections with mortals.

NOTE: This is a video meant to explain bits of the lore that were left out from other videos.
STORY: Boars exile after 100 years is over, and her and Doves children have been de-bubbled (see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OEM_G9nOCEk&). Dove and Boar are still fighting, and so the gods children must choice a mother. Juniper, who has figured out that his celestial powers revolve taking life, joins Dove. However, his sibling, Dahlia, can create life and chose to join Boar.
Having Boar, a god who has known to cause war and destruction, have Dahlia is concerning to Dove.... Afterall, Boar can keep creating life and, according to Dove, war amongst mortals would never end. So, Dove tasks Juniper with a horrifying task: to blind Dahlia in one eye, destroy their powers, and gain the powers of the God of Life.
Despite being hesitant, Juniper agrees. When he blinds Dahlia, however, things go wrong. Dahlia opens a portal into the mortal world and disappears, not letting Juniper take their powers.
