Mary E. Lovely (PIIE) joined CNN to explain her recent research on how US tariffs have failed to significantly decrease US reliance on Chinese content in imported goods. US tariffs instead drove suppliers to reroute supply chains through third countries to avoid shipping directly from China to the US.
