Sony’s State of Play 2026 came out swinging with our biggest look yet at Marvel’s Wolverine on PS5, and in this Part 1 reaction we’re breaking down Insomniac’s brutal new Wolverine gameplay showcase, Jean Grey’s assist mechanics, Sabretooth’s reveal, and why this instantly became one of my most anticipated games on PlayStation! We also react to brand-new footage from Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, the surprise return of Rayman with Rayman Legends Retold, our first look at the next Tomb Raider game, No Rest for the Wicked finally heading to PS5, and a massive Onimusha: Way of the Sword update complete with a playable demo announcement. From Wolverine’s visceral combat and cinematic set pieces, to several long-awaited franchise revivals and some genuinely shocking reveals, Sony packed a TON into the opening portion of this showcase and there’s a lot to unpack.
