Marvels NEW Spin-Off Shows REVEALED..
Welcome back to Scene Focus. Netflix has long used comic book properties to build its slate of original movies and TV shows lock & key to The Old Guard (and its forthcoming sequel) to Chilling Adventures of Sabrina not to mention the now-gone Marvel shows and growing list of manga adaptations. One of the most popular of the bunch has been The Umbrella Academy with all its overwhelming surrealism, with Neil Gaiman's The Sandman also tapped to take over Netflix Subscribers‘ brain for a while. It has now been revealed that the streaming service is bringing to life an A+ pair of comic book objects, Idris Elba. fast train‘s director and a stranger things writer on board.
The comic series 2020 is the first project under discussion bang!, which will focus on the GOAT of secret agents taking on a terrorist cult who have plans to bring about an apocalypse through a series of novels designed to take over people’s minds as they read the books. Idris Elba is slated to star in the feature project, and while it’s not technically clear whether or not he would play the lead spy, one can only hope so. To stay with the Matt Kindt-ness of it all, one of the comic book storyteller’s most expensive series, Attention MGMT She’s taking the episodic route for Netflix. In this project, which has yet to be starred for any starring roles, a young woman finds herself embroiled in a top-secret government program known as Mind Management, known for running high-tech shenanigans involving armed telekinesis. Dark Horse, whose head honchos Mike Richardson and Keith Goldberg will serve as executive producers on both of the above projects, also has two other projects in development for Netflix. One is a feature adaptation of Joelle Jones’ excellent killer-for-hire thriller lady killer, Blake Lively is both starring and directing and the other is a totally original concept called revenge inc. which has Emerald City Co-creator Matthew Arnold on board as showrunner.
