Marvel's Fantastic Four: First Steps isn’t just good… it’s the best MCU movie in years. A cosmic breath of fresh air that reminds us why we fell in love with this universe in the first place, Matt Shakman delivers a breezy, Star Trek-inspired space adventure about love, trust, and embracing the unknown. It’s vibrant, textured, and practical—yes, actual sets! The MCU has never felt more alive or handcrafted.
From the jump, Marvel’s First Family is instantly lovable, with a dynamic that feels lived-in and emotionally rich. Joseph Quinn fully embodies Johnny Storm (despite early doubts), but it’s Ebon Moss-Bachrach’s Ben Grimm who *steals the show*, bringing a quiet, heartfelt complexity to the character—especially in those Brooklyn scenes that hit way harder than expected.
Sure, the story may be simple, but that’s the point. The MCU didn’t need more convoluted multiverse noise—it needed heart, charm, and rewatchability. And Fantastic Four: First Steps delivers all that in spades. If this is the future of the MCU? Count me in.
