Martha’s Rule is a national patient safety initiative that provides patients, their relatives and carers, and our staff with an additional way to raise concerns when an inpatient’s condition is rapidly deteriorating.
It allows anyone who is worried – and feels their concerns have not been sufficiently addressed – to request an urgent review by an independent, specialist clinical team.
To use Martha’s Rule, call switchboard on 0300 304 7777 and quote 'Martha's Rule call'. This is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
