The Dąbrowski Brigade was a component of the International Brigades formed by Polish volunteers that fought for the Second Spanish Republic. It was named after the Polish republican revolutionary, Jarosław Dąbrowski who fought against Tsarist Russia and later joined the uprising of the Paris Commune in 1871. Some 5,000 Poles fought in the Dąbrowski Brigade.
