Lasting longer than anyone could have imagined, a NASA rover continues its martian trek, exploring our neighbourly world for eight years now. It has changed our perception of the frozen planet and set the stage for further, more complex and detailed examination, paving the way to eventual colonization. So far, no aliens have been detected.
