Married At First Sight is back for its 14th season and viewers are saying “I do” to make it their next reality TV obsession. The new season brings us back to Boston, where season 6 fan favorites, Shawniece and Jephte, met and married! Each two-hour episode will follow each couple’s emotional journey as they go from wedding to honeymoon. But what we really want to know is – what goes on behind-the-scenes. Since the stars are whisked away for 8 weeks of their lives to get hitched, it’s easy to wonder, are they getting paid? The executive producer claims that they make next to nothing, but sources that work in production say otherwise. And how much of the financial responsibility falls on the contestants? And the casting procedure is not for the faint of heart. Those who participate say they are required to fill out lengthy questionnaires that dig deep into their personal lives. And those that do make it past the casting process, strap in for the experience of a lifetime as relationship professionals match them up with their perfect person so they can make their way down the aisle to sign a legally binding contract joining the two strangers in holy matrimony. Contestants spill the beans about what really goes on behind-the-scenes when the cameras stop rolling and what leads to the explosive moments we can’t get enough of on our TV’s.
