MARK-MAKING: layers, colors, marks, handmade shape-makers
I am SO MUCH enjoying this deep dive into mark-making, and I am learning more and more about my own style. Maybe we create our own style as we go -- and grow and learn! Today we are adding color to the background, using a face from a magazine page, and drawing our own wild outfit with bright colors. We then decorate the outfit with all sorts of marks. What mediums work well together? Could this help in the future if we need something muted? We can use boxes, jar lids and found objects as shape makers, altering them for the shapes we need.
I was so torn about the red letter Q. I wondered if I messed up by using the deep red. Maybe an orange-red would be better? However, the more I look at this spread, the more I like it!
