This wonderful TV spot was filmed during my week long residency in Spokane a few months ago. When we arrive at our EYS music educational residency programs, we always try and fit in visits to the elementary schools. The scientific data with music, brain development and emotion starts at a very young age in our world. From very young 1 year olds to 5th graders, they respond to the power and beauty of music in a very visceral way. I highly recommend that all schools start not just general music classes, but start in 3rd grade bowed string lessons. This will strengthen their relationship with a physical experience and an instrument.
