It happened that Beirut played their first gig in years in Berlin which Mark Suciu did not want to miss out on. That’s why he flew over to Germany and planned to later on go skiing in Switzerland with his friend Ian from Coureur skate shop, who joined him on the trip. In between it fit perfectly to go filming with Torsten Frank and shoot some more photos in Stuttgart. So we also booked a train ticket and spent two days with Mark who unfortunately arrived in town with a fewer and was greated by rain. But in the end it all worked out and we used the rained out day to look for some Lem spots and improve Mark’s German language skills.

$“Always Late” by Lukas Larrue As you may know by now if you got your hands on our second issue, the south west of France is full of young talents skateboarding wise. Most of them get a taste of skateboarding in the numerous parks that have been built in the region for the past 20ish years, but for some reason only a small fraction of them push themselves out of those, and even a smaller portion of them actually document their street adventures. To be fair cant blame them: the spots are usually rough, on private properties, and quite far away especially if you dont have a car or motorcycle... Despite all this, Lukas Larrue, a great and upcoming skater (who closed our video Merci Clem with a nice front lip in Biarritz) from Tosse, chose to buy a Panasonic camera and filmed his Les landes homies. And that is how you get Always late, an action packed and raw 6 minutes video starring Aaron Pena, Noe Balsamo, Lucien Gourdal and Lukas himself, roaming around their local spot (and a bit of Berlin!)...
