In this video I chat about mark making that I enjoy in my art, and also give some inspirational ideas on how to incorporate your own marking. I paint primarily with watercolour and acrylic paints, and show some supplies I like to use for marking overtop dried backgrounds, and swatches. I use many different mixed media supplies, such as permanent pens, pencils, acrylic paint pens, wax crayons and water-soluble pencil crayons.

Mention:

140 lb watercolour/ mixed media paper (Canson XL or Artist Loft are good brands)
Faber Castell gelatos and watersoluble pencil crayons. (Supracolour soft II is the pencil I tend to use)
Uniball Signo Japanese bronze fine pen
Posca water-based acrylic paint pens (white fine tip and black medium tip)
Studio gel black permanent pen (Dollarama)
Gelly roll pens (I used neon)
Neo colour Caran d'ache wax crayons
Stabilo woody watersoluble crayons
Strathmore sketch book for ideas with pen or pencil
Ruled index card book
Jane Davenport mixed media papers
Rae Missigman "Paint Play Explore" book
Beam paints also sells mini watercolour books by "Stonehenge" , cold pressed and hot pressed.
