And so begins my quest to sweep the newly established IL board! There are 32 brand new categories, one for each character in the game. The objective? Starting from a new Challenge Mode file, make just the one target character a Superstar as fast as possible with no other restrictions. Some runs, like Hammer Bro's, take a couple minutes. Others, like Luigi's, still take over half an hour. I decided to do Petey first because... I wanted to! No other particular reason. Petey falls in the intermediary class of characters who have to do multiple bouts of baseball and one minigame, which felt like an appropriate start for my journey.
This is definitely not the fastest way to do Petey's run routing-wise, but I think it's a fair compromise between a lazily sketched speedwalk and the degenerate grinding that this category will devolve into eventually. Mostly I just wanted a 16-plate-appearance Mario and a 5 Catch match that ended in the bottom of the 1st, and within a couple of hours of attempts I managed to make that happen. I'll return to Petey more seriously either when this is beaten or when I'm satisfied with my initial efforts for the other characters.
Also, if you don't play Piranha Panic on Hard (which does not lose time because you're locked out of proceeding to the Ready screen for several seconds after selecting your character) you're not a real God Gamer. Sorry, but facts are facts.
