The stars have not yet FULLY aligned, but this is certainly the closest I have ever come to the pristine constellation to date. Very happy that the run finished, and with a solid time.
What went well:
First three interactions were Diddy Single, Dixie Single, and DK HR against Mario. Later in that inning, Paragoomba scored 3 RBIs and DK hit *another* HR with Diddy and Dixie on base (which combined with 1 more RBI brought me to 10 runs). At the second at-bat from Mario's team, Noki gave Diddy his clamber. I closed out the 1st-inning mercy 3 at-bats later. All of this happened in the first 6 minutes of the run. (This is an absolutely bonkers start. I'll be overjoyed if I get anything like it ever again.)
The Toads blessed my run!! (I only had to play 1 game of Wall Ball, because the Toads did not tie my winning score)
Overall excellent goal prioritization and situational awareness- the 4 troublesome fielding missions were the only difficulties
Amazing Clamber for Dixie in Peach at around 32 minute mark of the run timer.
What went wrong:
I beaned Baby Mario on my 1st attempt at the strikeout... meaning that I had to throw out a 4-inning Mercy Rule and cycle back to Baby Mario to get it 2nd try. This turned a great Yoshi to a slightly-below-average Yoshi.
No Paragoomba Jumping Catch going into Bowser... and I ended up getting it in the 7th inning, after running up the score as high as I could (to allow for more attempts)
What went alright but could have gone better:
Peach wasn't exactly slow, but it was nerve-wracking. By trying to induce Peach's team to hit pop-flies, I bungled my way to a 0-3 deficit going into the top of the 5th. I clutched things out by scoring 5 runs and putting them down in 3 at-bats, but still not great.
Wario wasn't terrible, but had to be intentionally slowed down a bit for Diddy MVP.
I'm moving on to other captains until this one gets beaten or this is my last improvable run. OOOOOO, BANANA

![Mario Superstar Baseball - Superstar% Toadette in 5:11.100 (World Record) [1 Match!]
Hell yes hell yes hell YES! Now this is what Im talking about!
It took me several days of effort (cumulatively) theorycrafting, testing, and practicing to make one match Toadette viable, but after learning that it was possible to set the CPU up for a third-inning bunt without endangering Toadettes shutout, MVP, and other goals, I knew I would eventually make it happen. Today, I have. It was of course made difficult by the fact that the CPU is only 20% or so likely to choose to bunt even when the requisite circumstances are met, but low odds havent stopped me before and they didnt stop me this time. :)
Im extremely proud of how it all turned out. Not literally perfect but Im not seeing too much to complain about - five minutes is very, very fast for a match that goes a full three innings. My defense in particular was swift and efficient, consisting only of one-pitch fly outs, three-pitch strikeouts, and of course the Big Play. The only truly regrettable moment was the Heart Ball that enemy-Peach threw against me-Toadette in the top of the 3rd - I might have still been able to get the squeeze bunt with better positioning, but at least the outcome was about ten seconds of time lost rather than the death of the run.
I can imagine this run being beaten someday but I dont envy whoevers going to make it happen - its definitely not going to be me, because as far as Im concerned this a Toadette run that I am comfortable with resting on indefinitely.
My second split was obviously late, because I was so focused on getting the Toadette is a Superstar! text box to pop up as quickly as I could that I forgot about pressing the split hotkey until a few seconds later. 5:11.100 is my manual retime using the Youtube frame timer available here: https://slashinfty.github.io/yt-frame-timer/ . Im confident that thats the accurate final time.
Goodness, just a little over five minutes... who would have thought? yourgeNote Mario Superstar Baseball - Superstar% Toadette in 5:11.100 (World Record) [1 Match!]](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/6cTckDBo8so/mqdefault.jpg)
