Doing this trick allows you to get the Silver Statue while doing Papercraft Boat Skip (http://youtu.be/fGY1qaR0X-A), which is useful for speedruns as it is worth 1000 coins. You can't just walk to the block and hit it because then you end up trapped, because there are platforms you're meant to dig under and you don't have Trio Drill.
To do this, first get Out of Bounds like usual at the start of Papercraft Boat Skip. I would then recommend saving, as it is very easy to fail this trick and get stuck. Then run around the sand and walk inside the platform. Use Trio Grab and very slowly edge yourself towards the corner of the platform I do, at the bottom-left. Once your shadow is a tiny bit outside the platform, turn to the left and press Y and you should hit the block. From there walk back into the platform, and you can clip fully OoB pretty easily at the top-left wall.
