Huehuehue... It's the final stretch to 1:36, guys. Let's do~ this.
[21:39:02] [¢ß] Gogoku7: It's time for the final stretch to 1:36
[21:39:15] [¢ß] Gogoku7: That means, 6 hours of sleep per day
[21:39:21] [¢ß] Gogoku7: 10 hours of playing
[21:39:46] [¢ß] Gogoku7: and then the remaining 8 hours, I'll only think of RR all the time
Splits:
Section 1: 32.299 (Best 32.099)
Section 2: 35.567 (Best 35.550)
Section 3: 29.202 (Best 29.141)
#2 on Player's Page on the moment it was made.
Finally beat Itoi... I've been working on Rainbow Road a lot the past few days. I'm at every PR I make, so confident about how I can beat it next time. But this PR actually make sweat on my forehead appear, knowing what's ahead. But I won't give up for Doco.
So, more in depth:
I think I have all knowledge needed for 1:36. I just need incredible luck for 3 amazing Sections in one run. But the thing is that the wavy part and the barrel make it nearly impossible to piece three splits close to your best performed ones.
Section 1 is good enough up until I miss the SMT.
Section 2 was also good, considering the wavy part is absolutely horrific when you are about that fast. But the most gimmicky about Section 2 is definitely it's Moon stunts which are completely random with no consistency while testing it whatsoever. The second crater stunt I pulled off in this run was complete luck, and the run might have sucked without it, I hope I will be able to pull those off more frequently soon, whether the tricks actually need to be delayed or not delayed.
Section 3: Here's where the drama starts... the barrel is in SUCH an HORRIBLE position! I can't stand that thing! You can lose so much time because that thing is so poorly programmed. But on top of that if ALL the critical moments / places of Rainbow Road have not ruined your time yet, then there still is the final jump which has ruined so much great potential runs for me so far... The final jump I performed was pretty good, but can still be performed like Doco and Monar... meh... I had ddespite everything a decent split her.
I think I'm done typing and trying Rainbow Road for tonight, see you next time.

![[Mario Kart 7] Rainbow Road - 1:37.296 / Old strats - Gogoku7 (Former PR)
1/7/2013
Finally beat Nassy.
Is this like 10th or 11th Worldwide? Im not sure anymore...
I hate the new strats simply for the fact that they are so incredibly cheap and just save a major amount of time, performed right- hail, even performed wrong.
Ranked 3rd on Players Page on the moment it was made.
Splits:
Section 1: 32.266 - Good enough, considering no leanings.
Section 2: 35.76 7 - Yow, this is bad...
Section 3: 29.263 - Good, dayum.
Ive improved somewhat compared to when I had 1:37.574. I actually accidentally deleted the raw footage I had of my 1:37.327 PR.
Section 1 is good enough, but could have easily been 2 ticks faster with a second drift leaning, and not going so super wide on the first drift.
Section 2 is a complete disaster, Ive become totally used to .567 Section 2 splits. But I failed both the Glider landing, and the Glider boost, costing a lot of time.
Section 3 is surprisingly good, Ive only had constant failures and sketchy slow times on this all the time, but the new leaning after the Glider saved .050 compared to leaning down, to my surprise. Also, the final jump is actually a nearly perfect replica of Monar. Ive nearly exploited all secrets about it, all that is left is the drifting alignments, and then I have mastered it. ![[Mario Kart 7] Rainbow Road - 1:36.733 / Old strat - Gogoku7
Old strat BKT.
Ive beaten all European and American times on this track using only Old strat. I just want to know how people are expecting other people than me (Sam, Adromaster, Alexony, etc.) to be able to beat Monar if they cant even beat my Old strat time.
The current Worldwide top 10 is crap by the way.
I will be going to back to RR new strat one last time before MK8 is released later, I have exams to do now. [Mario Kart 7] Rainbow Road - 1:36.733 / Old strat - Gogoku7](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/DfoQV_1VkrY/mqdefault.jpg)
![[Mario Kart 7] Doco Road - 1:36.984 / Old strat - Gogoku7
Note: I also have a live reaction video of the final time of this PR recorded, and I totally freaked out in it. If you want to see me freak out in a separate video, leave a comment.
Im done here! I did this to show my respect to Doco for all his hard work to push this track all the way from 1:39.112 to 1:36.956. I think he did an amazing job and deserves more credit for it as he for the most part laid down how you are supposed to play Rainbow Road, nowadays you can still see lots of elements he thought of back in some Time Trials by any racer. Without his work, Nassy and Monars battle would have probably lasted a lot shorter and the World Record would have been pushed way less and have been weaker if he did not take the final few leaps from low 1:38 to 1:36.956.
Seventh person to Sub 1:37 on Rainbow Road, third not-Japanese player to do so and third to do it without any new strats.
Bonus clip at the end of the video showcasing how much I no-lifed to get this time.
I dont know what to say, other than the fact that I am so happy all the hard work paid off and I do now have a PR of the same caliber as Doco.
Sam is a dick. [Mario Kart 7] Doco Road - 1:36.984 / Old strat - Gogoku7](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/DmEnufiMQJU/mqdefault.jpg)
![[Mario Kart 7] Rainbow Road - 1:36.906 / Old strat & Blue 7 - Gogoku7
People said I could not do 1:36 with Blue 7, so I got the Blue 7 & Old strat BKT. :)
Bad time, quite some mistakes. [Mario Kart 7] Rainbow Road - 1:36.906 / Old strat & Blue 7 - Gogoku7](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/ETcdG3SpWhM/mqdefault.jpg)

Splits:
Section 1: 32.233
Section 2: 35.700
Section 3: 29.253
I do not admit defeat to those who needed either or multiple of the new strategies on the track, which are: Hopping in Section 1, Wallboosting in Section 2, Glider bounce in Section 2 and Tims Hamosphere strat in Section 3 to get a faster time than me.
Too much shit going on in my head/life to write a full description, including my brother who nearly ran away from home last night. [Mario Kart 7] Rainbow Road - 1:37.186 / Old strat - Gogoku7](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/EzUSEtewbYc/mqdefault.jpg)

![[Mario Kart Wii] Rainbow Road - 2:29.904 (Bike) - Gogoku7
Ive been wanting this time since 2009, it finally happened a few weeks ago during a one-week comeback to the game to finish what Ive been wanting to do for the years I played Mario Kart 7.
I can not do this with Old strats.
No regrets. I simply am not cut for Mario Kart Wii. Only Mario Kart 7.
Lap 1: Good
Lap 2: UN-F***ING-TASTIC
Lap 3: Good, glad I did the Mander moonump
More videos coming soon, including Pokémon Stadium Episode 6. [Mario Kart Wii] Rainbow Road - 2:29.904 (Bike) - Gogoku7](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/G8NU9MlsYBk/mqdefault.jpg)
![[Mario Kart 7] Bowsers Castle - 1:59.855 - Gogoku7 (Country record)
I think this is in the last half of the European top 10 if Im correct...
Ranked 10th on the Players Page on the moment it was made.
Lap 1: 41.578
Lap 2: 39.325
Lap 3: 38.952
This is not perfect, but still pretty decent. I think Im stopping here... Im once again the first to do an epic sub in this country. Lol...
Final Pokémon X video coming whenever I can find the time to upload another 3GB video file. [Mario Kart 7] Bowsers Castle - 1:59.855 - Gogoku7 (Country record)](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/GhudtqygXm8/mqdefault.jpg)
![[Mario Kart 7] Rainbow Road - 1:36.493 - Gogoku7 (Former ER)
Already beaten.
But for those who wanted proof, here it is.
I actually was planning to make this the last Rainbow Road European Record I was going to do, but it was not satisfying to end off RR on that note. [Mario Kart 7] Rainbow Road - 1:36.493 - Gogoku7 (Former ER)](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/Gm_kfzkOW5s/mqdefault.jpg)
