I really enjoyed arranging this one because it is truly a VGM classic.
The musicians in this arrangement defenitely did an awesome job. Especially those horns. The horns part I wrote in this is pretty ambitious with all those high notes, haha! Casey did a great job in leading the horns on.
I approached the reharm for this in a very "fusion-y" way with the iconic bVI - bVII vamp. As you can hear in the middle of the song I used the vamp to key change downwards but making it sound like it modulated upwards. I really really like that approach in arranging so much.

Remixing Cynthias battle theme with her pre-battle theme is a bit of a challenge, since their rhythmic feel doesnt match with each other, with Approaching (Cynthia) being in 4/4 triplets, and Battle! (Cynthia) being in normal 4/4. I managed to find a way to merge those songs and I am proud of the finished product. Also you might here some sprinkled motifs across DPPt in there 😉
For the videography of this arrangement, I had to ask my friend to come over and help me record some moving shots and he did an awesome job!

Woohoo!! After working for 5 months, I have finally finished my latest jazz arrangement album of Plants Vs Zombies, called Reeds and Seeds
Ok I know I have said this a couple of times but this would not be possible without the people that helped me on this arrangement. Real people playing real instruments are always better than MIDI. It makes me so proud that I have finished this project, though there are some hardships along the way, but I manage to persevere. This project has been a labor of love, since I really really love playing Plants Vs Zombies as it is one of my childhood games!
I went with a Go-Go funk-esque arrangement for this one, and it turned out to be super good! Arranging this has been a challenge for me since I want this to be a special one because its the song. I originally arranged this without planning to add the vocals, but I realized this song would not be good without the lyrics. My good friend Lucas stood out and sang for this song which his vocals turned out to be phenomenal in this song!
