Floyd Moreland has a rich history of military service in his family, including his father who landed on Utah Beach during World War II. At age 21 Moreland joined the United States Marine Corps because he wanted to fight with the best.
After finishing basic at MCRD, Moreland attended AIT at Camp Pendleton. Eventually Moreland would be assigned to Lima Company 3/9 and was sent to Vietnam in March of 1967. Moreland would complete two tours in Vietnam and would see intense combat along the DMZ near Con Thien.
