Marine One Loss of Separation at DCA: NTSB Preliminary Report
Marine One and an Envoy Air E-170 came within 0.82 NM laterally and 700 ft vertically at DCA on Aug 4. The NTSB cites a radio line-of-sight gap that blocked the required 3-min pre-departure warning. FAA has since relocated the helicopter-control radio to the top of the tower. #Aviation #AirTrafficControl
