The idea for this cover stemmed from two ideas: 1) I wanted to cover a song from Metroid to show it some love, and 2) since I associate the Genesis with harder sounding songs, I wanted to see how well it could pull off an atmospheric song. Thus, this cover was born.
Maridia has always given me problems when playing Super Metroid. Every time I replay it, I always get lost, so this theme has been ingrained into my brain. Definitely not a bad one to be stuck in there!

Hey folks! Todays release is my cover from the Pixel Mixers latest tribute album, Songs of the Great Sea. I had the pleasure of organizing the album for the community. Id say everything went well over the course of production!
I had conjured this swing-esque feel for Outset during the pre-claiming period of the album. After pre-claims, I picked the track up and started working it up! The cheerful nature of Outset seemed to fit an 8-bit aesthetic perfectly. And thats really the nature of cover!
