The Marchant calculators with the proportional gear mechanism were the fastest calculators until the introduction of electronics. This video shows the Marchant ACT-10M doing the division 355/113 = 3.141592920, which is a good approximation to pi. The calculation is shown in regular speed and in slow motion.
