I took so many punishment picks this month, but I’m somehow still excited about my TBR.
Current LitLand Rules
There are six colors tied to six different genres. Each card I pull advances me across the board and informs which genre I pick from to add to my To Be Read (TBR) pile for the month.
I pull four cards to advance across the board each month.
If I land on a dot, I have to pull a prompt from my Stuck Square cards; I also use these as punishment cards if I haven’t completed one of my books from a previous month. BUT I do allow rollovers, so I essentially give myself two months to get a book read, or else I have to take a punishment. Punishment pulls also don’t help me advance across the board.
If I pull a card with a book on it, I have to go to wherever the genre on the card takes me. I also have to pull a Challenge Card and complete that prompt.
There are also Troll Bridge cards, but I only pull those if I want to cross a bridge or if I land on a square with a rainbow sticker. I have to complete the prompt on that card within the month or I have to take a punishment.
At the end of LitLand I get to treat myself with a book haul. For each LitLand book I read, I put $5 towards a book haul. I do still buy a few books here and there during the month, if I buy more than three new books I have to remove $5 from my book haul savings per book I went overboard. I don’t count my book subscriptions since I use those to make content here on the channel, but I am trying to keep my book purchases low at the moment.
Hopefully, this helps keep us all up-to-date on the rules. Sometimes I make tweaks as I go along, but the current rules affecting this month’s game should be listed above.
On a personal note, there’s a lot going on in the world right now that I’m deeply invested in but don’t always put in my videos bluntly. My goal here is to list some resources to help engage thoughtfully, but please always do your own research on content so that you feel informed and comfortable.
If you’re concerned and upset about the situation in Ukraine right now, I like this Time article to talk about how you can help from afar.https://time.com/6151353/how-to-help-ukraine-people/

Whether youre a Hamilton super fan or havent been interested in watching it, there are still some fun recommendations for you in this tag. Personally, I love that a musical has been recorded and shared for people to see over and over again, and I wish we would do that with more musicals! Hope you enjoy this tag and let me know if I should let Gerard stay.
