A fall of nearly 20 feet in steep, heavily wooded terrain left no easy way out.
The Minnesota Air Rescue Team (MART) was called to assist after a MN DNR Enforcement officer was injured while removing an illegal deer stand at Whitewater Wildlife Management Area near Plainview last week.
With ground crews unable to safely reach her, our helicopter crew and Saint Paul Fire Department rescuers took to the air. Using a hoist rescue, crews lifted her out of the rugged terrain and into the care she needed.
Officer Annette Schlag is now safe at home and expected to make a full recovery, thanks to the coordinated efforts of all responding agencies.
