This week we sat down with singer / songwriter Marc E. Bassy. I first heard of him when Kendrick tweeted a link to his East Hollywood EP. Spent the afternoon listening to it twice in a row. The record is filled with vibey stylized pop music you can tell was written by someone that grew up loving rap music. It seemed to have come out of nowhere but, like any good music story, there were many years of hard work in Marc’s story. After moving to LA from the Bay to pursue music a decade ago, getting signed, having a Top 40 song, parting ways with the band, and taking his turn writing for others, he’s found a renewed passion as an artist and EHEP is a sign of that. Hear us talk about touring frat houses to garner buzz, people quitting great jobs to join his band, and throwing a blazer over his t-shirt to play the mid-2000’s image game.
