Removing and cleaning a MAP (manifold absolute pressure) sensor. This vehicle was a 2008 Nissan Note with the 1.4 liter petrol engine. If the MAP sensor is causing a check engine light, it may just be clogged up with carbon or oil deposits. Before replacing it with a new sensor, it is worth giving it a thorough cleaning first, to see if it cures the issue. The sensor should be cleaned with an approved MAP or MAF sensor cleaner. A faulty or dirty MAP sensor could cause one or more of the following symptoms:
Poor fuel economy
Lack of power
High exhaust emissions
Rough idle
Hard starting
Hesitation or stalling
Check engine light, possibly caused by one of the following error codes: P0068, P0069, P0105, P0106, P0107, P0108, P0109, P1106 or P1107
