In this video I show an early development version of the manual tool setter screen I was working on for the SYIL X7 with the Syntec 22MA control.
The goal was to make manually setting tool lengths easier by guiding the operator through the process directly from the control screen.
The video shows the early workflow for:
Setting up the manual tool setter location
Loading the target tool
Bringing the tool down to the gauge
Zeroing the reference gauge
Measuring the tool
Writing the new tool height into the tool table
Using the on-screen prompts to step through the process
This was an early development version, so the screen and workflow were still being refined, but it gives a good look at how the tool-setting process was being automated and simplified.
