DP World | Mangrove Forest Project in Jebel Ali Wildlife Sanctuary | In Partnership with The Climate Tribe @DPWorldinfo | Uploaded July 2024 | Updated October 2024, 11 hours ago.
Mangroves are essential carbon sinks, capturing large amounts of carbon and protecting coastlines from severe weather conditions.
As a Global Impact Partner to The Climate Tribe, we tell a story of transformation at the Jebel Ali Wildlife Sanctuary, now home to over 2 million mangroves. The project aims to sequester 26 tonnes of CO2 over the next 25 years, significantly contributing to SDG 14: Life Below Water.
This #InternationalDayForTheConservationOfTheMangroveEcosystem, hear from Major Ali Al Suweidi, President of the Emirates Marine Environmental Group and our very own Dr. Jimena Rodriguez, Oceans and Biodiversity Manager who share more on our shared commitment to safeguarding these vital ecosystems.
