We were motoring back to port through Phillippi Creek in Sarasota, FL when we spotted the back of a Manatee directly in front of our boat and in the middle of the channel. We shut the motor off and drifted for awhile hoping to spot the Manatee again, when much to our surprise she/he showed up right behind our boat and just about laid its' head right on our transom. We couldn't get to our cell phone before the Manatee swam away, but again, much to our surprise, it came back a second time which is what we captured here. It is always such a thrill to have a personal encounter with an animal in its' natural environment. That was fun. Hope that you enjoyed this brief video.
