For more than four decades, this Southwestern Ontario house has remained largely untouched. Described as a genuine residential time capsule, with its original layout, all the finishes and many of the construction decisions of another era are still intact.
Now Troy and the Nuera team are taking it back to its bones, confronting everything that comes with a full renovation, including aging materials, hidden conditions, outdated services and a floor plan that no longer reflects how modern families use their homes.
From here, every demolition decision exposes another layer of the building, and every new wall, floor, electrical run, plumbing connection and insulation upgrade has to be coordinated with what comes next.
As you’ll see, the project shows how an older house can be systematically rebuilt for modern comfort, efficiency and everyday use without losing the practical logic that made it worth renovating in the first place.
