This book led to questions just about everything and why things are done the way they are done. So as I share core ideas, and review this book, I will also give you guys questions at the end of every point, so you guys question things also.

1. The independence illusion
- Everyone wants to be independent and everyone is really dependent
- The right question is not – how to become independent, the right question is on who/what you want to depend on
Think through this:
We depend on the Government.
- They will raise our kids via school
- They will take of us in our old age via social security
- And they will fix our problems today
We Depend on Companies
- They will pay us money
- With that money, we can survive and thrive
Independence is an illusion:
- The only person who is truly independent in totality is God
- So the question is, who do you want to depend on
- For my family, my family, for my income productive property ( more on that later )
- But who do you want to depend on?
2. House No Longer a Home
- Unfortunately, I’ve been able to experience this myself and to see the consequence
- Of what we call modern better living
- Here are vague details, so I don’t risk exposure
The House Today:
- Parents go to work at 7am leave the house or earlier or later and they get back home by 6-7pm
- Kids go to school in the morning and come back later also, the home is empty
- And when kids finally get home and the parents are home, no one really talks about anything at the dinner table except work and some highlights
- The dinner table disperses, and each goes into their individual rooms to watch TV or browse the interest
- How is that home, isn’t it more like a condo or people coming in and out?
The Fruits of that life :
- Kids that unattached to their parents
- Parents that forgo their responsibility to the school system
- Kids that go on to work, and move out and repeat the same cycle
- Who truly benefits from this?
3. Wife and Slave Wage
- This is super controversial these days, and the good thing is that as I read this book, I was also reading another book
- The education of kids, used to be done primarily by moms, and the keeping of the household used to be done primarily by women
- I’m talking about a family unit, wife and husband ( not people who live together without commitment )
These days:
- A woman who stays at home, cares for a family, cares for her home
- Is looked at as if she is wasting her time as if she is someone of less importance
- But what is the alternative
To go for a career
- Give your life, youth, time, and energy to a company
- In exchange for money
- To have someone else do those things in your house
- What the point in that really?
Ps.
- Work to me as a man is about money ( make the money I need to make for my family )
- But if my wife stays at home, I’m not of more value because I make the money and she stays at home
- Work does not provide me with an identity ( God does that )
