A Tuesday morning police chase along Texas Highway 87 in Bridge City ended in Orange with a deadly shootout with police that left one man dead and a motor officer injured.

The chase ended near the intersection of 15th St. and Green Ave. near the West Orange-Stark Middle School campus.

The school was put on lockdown following the shooting.

One man died at the scene after being shot by officers following the chase, according to Detective Colton Havard, of the Orange County Sheriff's Office.
