Jun 13, 2007 - An argument over smoking led a Brooklyn Center man to slash his wife's throat, severing her tongue and windpipe, prosecutors alleged Tuesday.
Authorities said Meg Lundeen and her husband, Randy P. Aaser, visited a couple bars with friends and colleagues to celebrate her 30th birthday Friday night. But before the couple returned home, Lundeen called a friend to say they'd been fighting and she wanted to come over.
She didn't make it there. Around 2:40 a.m., a neighbor found Lundeen bleeding profusely on her own driveway.
Aaser was charged with second-degree attempted murder Tuesday. He was being held in lieu of $500,000 bail.
