A few weeks ago I uploaded a 5 minute long mamey sapote video on the Chef Buck recipe channel. I was trying to make the mamey video short, but I thought some of the cut footage wasn’t so bad, and I also thought folks might want to see a completely unedited video file and how it compares to the final cut. So that’s what most of this video is. What is mamey fruit? Mamey sapote is a tasty tropical fruit we often see at local markets here in Mexico. The fruit is native to South and Central America, but it is also grown in south Florida, so you might be able to find it at a grocery in the USA. It is much like an avocado in the way you slice and eat it.
