Mame Diouf was signed by Blackburn Rovers on a season long loan from Manchester United in August 2010.

The Senegalese forward, who could also operate as a right winger, provided speed and energy to an experienced Rovers attacking line consisting of the likes of Jason Roberts, Benjani, Nikola Kalinic and Roque Santa Cruz. The latter who had returned to the club on loan from Manchester City.

Diouf's impact was almost immediate, as two weeks into his Rovers career he hit a hat-trick against Norwich City in a League Cup tie at Ewood Park. He would then go on to score against Arsenal, only days later, as Rovers lost in a close encounter against the Gunners.

Due to Rovers having numerous striking options, Mame Diouf saw himself deployed a number of times throughout the 2010/11 campaign as a right winger/right sided attacker. He made 26 Premier League appearances in his sole season at the club and played on the right hand side in 11 of those 26 outings. He would also complete the full 90 minutes in only 12 of those 26 appearances, suggesting that he was viewed as more of an impact player coming off the bench, rather than a regular starter.

Nevertheless, Diouf still had his moments in a Rovers shirt. He scored a late equaliser at the Reebok Stadium in a local derby game against Bolton. Sadly for him and Rovers, it was a game that was lost instantly to a dramatic late winner from Stuart Holden for the hosts. Diouf's last goal for Rovers would come at the Hawthorns in December 2010 during an impressive 3-1 win against the Baggies. Diouf's stay at Rovers only lasted one season and he returned to Manchester United in the summer of 2011.

Mame Diouf made 29 appearance in total for Blackburn Rovers in the 2010/11 season, scoring six goals. Here are those goals.
