An appeals court has temporarily put a hold on a Staten Island judge’s order blocking the rollout of New York’s pied-à-terre tax, allowing the city to continue implementing the tax. #nyc #mamdani #newyork #news #usa

The suing homeowners claim the city caused “mass confusion” with its identification of properties subject to the tax and that the city is shifting its responsibility to correctly identify taxable properties to homeowners.

The city says it is quickly handling exemption applications, having received 4,300 so far, with nearly half of those applying already granted exemptions.
