Mal di Luna is the band led by Chris Glenn, a musician and DJ based in Trieste, a cosmopolitan city on the Adriatic Sea, in the northeast border of Italy.
The guitar is played by Giovanni Bertossi and the drums by Michael Bonanno, the songs are composed and recorded with the producer Lorenzo Visintin.
Mal di Luna is a completely new gothic experience, the songs are various and never repetitive, and the same vocal techniques adopted by Chris Glenn are extremely different from track to track.
The lyrics have several layers of interpretation, and they are all characterized by a black and romantic soul. Sometimes they are steeped in a dark and perverse sensuality, sometimes they speak of pure, and somewhat deliberately, naive feelings.
In "Moth", as always with Mal di Luna’s songs, the lyrics have multiple layers of interpretation.
Reading between the lines, the song addresses the themes of loneliness and depression, and the strength required to withstand them. However, there is no happy ending.
The artwork evokes the allure of movie posters from the ’80s/’90s and was created using a combination of analog and digital techniques. Experimentation is a constant element for Mal di Luna.
Mal di Luna started to play gigs in 2023, and was immediately scheduled for the Dark Malta Festival where performed with such bands as Project Pitchfork, And One, Deathstars, Icon of Coil and many other international exponents of the gothic panorama. Mal di Luna’s live performance was acclaimed by the audience and the press.
In 2024, the band signed with the illustrious German record label Alice In... (Dark Dimensions Labelgroup)
