Institute for Energy Studies alumni Hari Nath and Solomon Duke will talk about their current work at Energy 350, in Portland, OR. Hari will focus on important topics for energy efficiency engineering in commercial and industrial spaces, as well as discuss his own experience as an energy engineer. Solomon will walk through the emerging field of Strategic Energy Management, and what makes it impactful and unique from other energy efficiency programs. They hope you leave this presentation with a widened perspective on career possibilities in the energy industry landscape.

Solomon Duke '22
Solomon Duke is a Strategic Energy Management (SEM) Engineer at Energy 350, helping industrial and commercial customers make energy management a core business practice. Before Energy 350, Solomon was the Pacific Northwest lead engineer at Northshore, improving data center energy, water, and refrigerant use. Solomon graduated from WWU in 2022 and afterwards conducted energy-peacebuilding research at the Arava Institute for Environmental Studies in Ktura, Israel. Outside work, he enjoys anything involving moving his body or being in nature.

Hari Nath '23
Hari Nath is an Energy Engineer at Energy 350, measuring and quantifying energy consumption for commercial and industrial customers. Before Energy 350, Hari was an Energy Analyst for the Washington State Energy Program, where he provided technical guidance for school districts, tribal organizations, and building owners on acquiring grant funding for energy saving projects. Hari graduated from WWU in 2023 from the IES program. Outside of work he enjoys being in the mountains, ocean, and kitchen!
