The push for DOOM MAGS #1 continues.
We are back for Episode 202 as we move closer to the finish line for our first comic book: DOOM MAGS End of the World Anthology #1. While Jake is away on Spring Break in Daytona, the production does not stop.
On the drawing board today:
Final Inking: Kurt is focusing on the last 10 pages of the Turbo Pit-fighter story.
Tonal Balance: The primary mission today is bringing proper black and white balance to these pages, ensuring the art is punchy and ready for the printing press.
Jake will return next week to resume lettering the next 6 pages of Turbo’s story and designing the title zine pages for the short comics.
Since 1999, this project has been a labor of love. Now, we are documenting every final stroke live to show what it takes to get an indie book to the finish line.
About the Creators:
Jake Jacobs is the writer, penciler, and production designer.
Kurt Brugel is the inker, hand-letterer, and show producer.
Join the live chat, hang out with Kurt, and watch the final pages of the Turbo story come to life.
And be sure to check out the after-show on Jake’s Doommags Substack for extended thoughts and production notes.
