AZALI | making this song, i think i learned a secret to strings @AZALI00013 | Uploaded April 2023 | Updated October 2024, 7 hours ago.
A short waltz made in FL Studio 21 using a piano, a viola, and a cello.
I hurt my hands so bad playing the chords like 40 seconds in on this one (╥﹏╥)(╥﹏╥)(╥﹏╥)
Anyway, this song is a huge step forward for me in a variety of ways !!! :0
First, I played around with a TON of new harmony which I had a lot of fun with.
Second, I put a lot of attention into both the tempo automation and volume automation clips in order to try and make the pace and instrumentation of the song feel very natural.
And finally, usually, I'll make the strings super prominent and give them a decent role in the melody of the song, but this time around, I just left them in the background to do their own thing, and it worked pretty well !!!
From that, I learned a little secret :0 :0
You can achieve a pretty cool sound if you treat string instruments more like ambient noise than melodic components !!!!
I'll definitely use this more in future songs since its so fun, and I also really enjoy how it sounds :0
I'm curious to know how you feel about it as well, so please let me know if this sound is something you like ! :)
