Modustrial Maker | Making something BEAUTIFUL from RAIN-SOAKED wood ... (ep. 42) @modustrial | Uploaded 1 year ago | Updated 3 hours ago
In this abandoned building renovation episode, we have a woodworking project making a live edge slab river mirror with LEDs. Save up to 40% off your SimpliSafe system at simplisafe.com/modustrial
My friend Bart had this live edge wood slab just sitting out in his yard in the rain, rotting, for a couple years. I decided to save it and make a live edge river mirror with backlighting from LED strips. This was a really fun woodworking project, and is part of the master bathroom renovation at my abandoned building project. We used my CNC to flatten the live edge slab, then rip cut the live edges to form the edges of the mirror. I also cut channels in the back to the wood to create a space for LED strips to provide really cool backlighting behind the mirror. We then installed the mirror over the bathroom vanity, to finish of the bathroom renovation.
