Wilhelm Reich was ready to provide a better form of treatment that can change the lives of individuals around the world and to convert his ideas into a reality. He created a device he called the orgone accumulator. Wilhelm Reich's discovery of orgone began with his research of a physical bio-energy basis for Sigmund Freud's theories of neurosis in humans. Wilhelm Reich believed that traumatic experiences blocked the natural flow of life-energy in the body, leading to physical and mental disease. Wilhelm Reich concluded that the libidinal-energy that Freud discussed was the primordial-energy of life itself, connected to more than just sexuality. Orgone was everywhere and Reich measured this energy-in-motion over the surface of the earth. He even determined that its motion affected weather formation.

When Wilhelm Reich started working on the fascinating orgone energy, things drastically changed for him. In order to stop him from making this great discovery, he was persecuted in a systematic, brutal, and in a very public way. As soon as his discoveries were revealed, he was thrown in prison, all his instruments were destroyed, and even his books related to his research work were burned to assure that no one will work on this concept again. This harsh prosecution against this great mind, leads you to ask, what dangerous truth had Reich stumbled across, to warrant such heavy-handed treatment? Orgone energy would have been one of the greatest discoveries in the world, just like free energy would.
First, there was that Orgone Box – naked people getting into that thing, it didn’t even plug into the wall; some sort of sex machine or orgasm device that was supposed to produce “orgiastic potency.” Or cure everything from colds to cancer – a cure all as it were. Well, it didn’t take the authorities long to put a stop to that sort of nonsense; we can’t have people running around curing cancer now can we?
Orgone Accumulator
In 1940, Wilhelm Reich constructed the first device to accumulate orgone energy: a six-sided box constructed of alternating layers of organic materials (to attract the energy) and metallic materials (to radiate the energy toward the center of the box). Patients would sit inside the accumulator and absorb orgone energy through their skin and lungs. The accumulator had a healthy effect on blood and body tissue by improving the flow of life-energy and by releasing energy-blocks.
The term orgone was used by Wilhelm Reich himself. It is best defined as the life energy force, which is found everywhere. Many ancient civilizations talked about this life energy force as well. The traditional Chinese culture, call this life energy Qi, and they’ve developed an ancient practice for cultivating and balancing this energy, a practice called Qi-gong. In the ancient Vedic texts from Hinduism, we can also find reference to this incredible life energy, which is called Prana and can also be utilized with the Kundalini energy.
