With the hull complete I can now work on the deck of the kayak! And the deck will be strip built like a classic cedar strip canoe/kayak. But instead of the typical cedar strips, I decided to make my own… from trash. Here’s my process for milling down pallet slats into strips to use to build the deck of the boat. It’s a lot of repetitive work, but it’s worth it when you see all those colors and cool unique species.
