We believe that live orchestral music should be accessible for everyone, no matter what your postcode may be. This is at the heart of our regional touring commitment: over 2026, Queensland Symphony Orchestra will travel more than 10,000 kilometres across regional Queensland to deliver world‑class performances, inspire young musicians, and deliver education workshops that support both students and music teachers.
In Charleville, we were privileged to work with students from School of the Air which serves Queensland’s most isolated students, including participants from Quilpie, Woombye, Charters Towers and Thargomindah. Students undertook intensive workshops and had the chance to hear a diverse education concert program that included the world premiere of a new work by Ukrainian-Australian composer Catherine Likhuta.
While in town, the QSO String Quintet also gave a concert at Charleville State School and also stopped by Waroona Multipurpose Centre to share the joy of music, including a heartfelt rendition of Danny Boy.
We were privileged to share the stage with the wonderful students and community musicians at Charleville Town Hall, where we played for a full house. Thanks for making musical memories with us Charleville and see you next time!
