[1] Some notes on the Old Tongue translation:
Vocabulary consulted from: wot.fandom.com/wiki/List_of_Old_Tongue_words
Various grammar structures, word order and general usage deduced from “Al’Naito” (instagram.com/p/CX_m2aCMN5R/) and “Mashiara” (instagram.com/p/CYaO0Drt2S6/) song lyrics, as well as the Season 1/Episode 8 script page visible in behind-the-scenes footage (amazon.co.uk/Wheel-Time-Season-Teaser-Trailer/dp/B09F5JJXHX/ref=nav_signin/?crid=5ANAJXZEYLLJ&keywords=the+wheel+of+time&qid=1641325823&sprefix=the+whee%2Caps%2C151&sr=8-1&).

While an astonishing number of sewing terms are provided in the vocabulary database (actually this isn’t surprising at all, given the story’s unrelenting textile metaphors 🙌), several words needed to be compounded or extrapolated to cover terms specific to this video:
-As no record of the term “zip” seems to have survived in Old Tongue records, it is called here a “sobel’angreal” (”magical button-closure-like device surviving from the Age of Legends”).
-The felling stitch (”bhoot’zinik”) roughly translates in Common Tongue to “screw-stitch” due to the corkscrew nature of its thread path. The “-ane” past tense suffix has been added in this instance (”bhoot’zinikane”) to denote the action of fell-stitching.
-The imperial measuring system does seem to have finally been eradicated by the introduction of Old Tongue during the Age of Legends as no terminology for such units of measure seem to have been recorded; for our present imperial measuring purposes, however, I have selected to use the translation for OT “nail” (”hakhel”), as the nail unit of measure was our early modern precursor to today’s inch.

(Requisite apologies to anyone who has spent years and actual effort deciphering this language, please pardon my three-hour colossal script-writing diversion which, incidentally, turned out to be a thrilling way to spend a Saturday evening. Highly recommend.)
