In this video I show how I made an 18th century style pocket with an embroidered floral design. I did not have a pattern for this project so I made it up with the help of this wonderful article from the Victoria and Albert Museum entitled "Make Your Own Pocket": vam.ac.uk/content/articles/m/make-your-own-pocket I found it to be incredibly helpful in the sewing of this design.

For the embroidery motifs I combined 7 preset designs from my Brother Innov-is NQ1600E Embroidery Machine. I am using a Large -18cm x 13 cm (approx 7 inches x 5 inches) Hoop that came with my machine. The green, red, and blue threads are Floriani Embroidery Threads.

I had been wanting to make a pocket for a while now, and I am so happy with how it turned out! I want to make a million more pockets now! This was such a great way to use up some remnants of former projects. I look forward to the next time I can wear it!
