LauraMixedMedia | Making a New Junk Journal to Kick of the New Year! @LauraMixedMedia | Uploaded January 2022 | Updated October 2024, 53 minutes ago.
I recently finished off my junk journal, so I decided to make a new one for the new year. And while I had everything out, why not make a mini one, too?
One of my goals for the year is to record more videos for YouTube, and I'm hoping to do a lot of them in these little journals, so I wanted to make sure I showed you how I made them. I'll also be doing a monthly challenge/prompt in my newsletter, so if you're not already signed up for that, head over to my website lauramixedmedia.com
This video does not have a voice over (that's part of my goal to make more videos... voice overs are the most difficult part as I don't have my own space and there is always something going on in my house, lol) so if you have any questions, just let me know!!
Pamphlet stitch:
A
B
C
Down through B, up through A, down through C, up through B.
Whichever direction you start is where your knot will end up (so either inside the signature or outside the book).
Supplies:
Vintage book covers
Paper tape
Chipboard (I used the back of a pad of watercolor paper)
Fabric
Heavy matte gel medium
Paper cutter
Awl
Waxed cord
Needles
Various papers - painted papers, scrapbook paper, book pages, ledger papers, etc.
Sari ribbon
